Secretariat Center

As his calendar allows, Chris has designated an additional day of small group sessions at a facility following either a Horsemanship Clinic or Train The Trainer Session to allow participants from the previous event to continue work with a specific horse or issue.  As well, it is open to individuals who would like a small block of time to focus on one horse working only with Chris.  Three 2 ½ hour sessions per day will be set up to accommodate small groups of 2 or 3 per group as determined by Chris based on student experience, horse issues and whether riding or groundwork is the focus.  Participants do not need to be registered in the previous days’ clinic in order to register for these small group sessions.  .

Chris is limiting the number of attendees for these days of small group sessions to 9 and welcomes all disciplines, English or western, and all breeds, ages, gender and temperament of horse for assistance in groundwork, equitation or both.

Hours are 9 am to approximately 5 pm daily.  Participants will be placed with appropriate students in groups of two or three and will work exclusively with Chris in a 2 to 2 ½ hour session:  9 – 11:30, a lunch break until noon, 12 – 2:30 or 2:30 to 5:00 pm.  Anne will do her best to work with you on the time of day that works best for you.

Participants are asked to come prepared with the following: lunge line, lunge whip, dressage whip or crop, D-ring or full-cheek snaffle bit (rather than loose-ring), full tack, protective boots if you use them, surcingle and driving reins if you would like to long-line, and your own riding helmet and gloves.  Please mark your equipment in such a way you can distinguish it from others.

Registration Form

Small Group Session Registration Form

The fee for these small group sessions is $295 per person for a 2.5 hour session.  To secure your space, a deposit of $100 is accepted via secure PayPal payment when registering online.  Please be aware these sessions will book in quickly, and spaces are confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis on deposits received.   Should you prefer to pay your deposit with a personal cheque, please make it out to Horsepower Productions and mail to:

P.O. Box 1619, Whitecourt, Alberta T7S 1P4  Canada.

Simply emailing a request to attend small group sessions does not automatically include you on the roster.  Your space cannot be confirmed until Anne has received your credit card for deposit, or your deposit cheque is received at the Horsepower office.  At that time you will receive a written email as receipt of your deposit confirming your space.  If the sessions for the day have already filled by the time you register and pay online, or Horsepower receives your cheque, Anne will call you and let you know you are on the wait list.

Although not required, should you wish to reserve stall space for your horse before or after the session, you will need to make separate and direct arrangements with the host facility.  Each host facility has their own stabling fees and requirements for vaccinations, arrangements, etc.  Please contact the name and phone for facility stabling found on the event on Chris’ website.

Cancellation Policy

Should you cancel a confirmed space in a small group session, your deposit, less 10% handling fee, will only be refunded if a replacement is found.  Or you may choose to transfer this deposit to a future event, without the handling fee, but again, only if a replacement is found for the space you are releasing.

Spectators

While these days are not set up for spectating, spectators are certainly welcome, as the value of observation can never be underestimated. The fee, payable at the door, is $25 per adult per day, $15 for 12 – 16, and under 12 are free of charge.
